Liikenteen turvallisuusvirasto Trafi on tähän mennessä myöntänyt kokeiluluvan viidelle raakapuuta kuljettavalle HCT-ajoneuvolle. Lupaan sisältyy tutkimusvelvoite, jonka mukaisesti yrittäjät raportoivat kokemuksistaan. HCT-tutkimuksessa on mukana useita eri tahoja, ja sen tavoitteena on kehittää turvallisia, energia- ja kustannustehokkaita sekä ympäristöä ja tiestöä mahdollisimman vähän rasittavia ajoneuvoja
