were Sagát (Finnish design), Uniqeco (handmade jewellery, handbags and other accessories made out having of recycled materials) and Valona. Apart from these brands, we also saw stands selling honey with all kinds of natural flavours (for instance garlic and fir tree) and authors selling books, as well as a lot of handicraft items, such as woollen socks, gloves and decorated pillows.
After having walked round the stands once, we went to have a second look at the designs we liked the most. Walking to Valona’s stand, we got to speak for a while with the designer behind Valona: designer Elina Mäntylä. She told us about the art processes and about the new co-operative that has started in Helsinki, called MadeBy Helsinki. We will definitely go there when we are visiting Helsinki the next time, so stayed tuned
